The creation of Western Potatoes Limited in 2004 was in response to government restructuring of the West Australian potato industry.  The principle behind Western Potatoes Limited was to create a more streamlined, efficient potato industry for Western Australians.

There are four core businesses to Western Potatoes Limited.

4. Intellectual Property (PBR)
