Ross TaylorChairman
Ross Taylor joined Western Potatoes in November 2004 as Chairman. Prior to joining Western Potatoes he has had extensive experience in international businesses in the areas of international trade, investment, marketing and sales.
A former senior executive with Wesfarmers Ltd. Ross has lived and worked in Vancouver, London, Singapore, Jakarta and Christmas Island.
In addition to his role as chairman of Western Potatoes Limited, Ross holds a number of other board positions in WA, Indonesia and Singapore. He is also the national vice-president of the Australia-Indonesia Business Council and is a member of the WA Chamber Of Commerce and Industry's International Trade Committee. He is also a successful author having had three books published including "Creating Health...Yourself"- a nutritional guide for baby boomers seeking improved health.
Ross has extensive philanthropic interests throughout Australia and Asia, and has held positions at the Cancer Support Association of WA Inc (president), The Breast Cancer Foundation of WA Inc.,(chairman), and is the current chairman of The Brady Cancer Support Foundation Inc.
Ian CarterDirector
Ian Carter was appointed Director in November 2004. Ian is a third generation farmer in Marybrook, WA and has grown ware potatoes since 1965. Prior to this he was Zone Chairman of Marybrook for the Potato Growers Association.
Previously he was an integral member on a range of councils and committees, including the Geographe Catchment Council and Whicher Water Resources Management Committee.
Tony BrennanDirector
Tony Brennan recently was appointed Director February 2007. Tony has practiced with one of Australia's largest private law firms as a Solicitor in the area of corporate advisory, mergers and acquisitions and banking and finance. Having worked for local and state government bodies, Australian blue chip companies and national and international banks, Tony has experience in corporate banking and finance transactions including development finance and refinance transactions, infrastructure and project finance, loan facility and security documentation, general corporate banking matters and significant commercial property transactions. The projects he has been involved with range from tunnels, gas pipelines, international cruise ship terminals, agricultural projects and energy and resource projects.
Tony also has various board and committee positions with Breast Cancer Foundation of WA, Western Australian Institute of Dispute Management, Australian Prehospital Care Development Foundation, Mining Law Committee – International Bar Association and The Oil and Gas Law Committee – Internal Bar Association.
Tony holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Queensland, a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice.
